The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 severely impacted demand and logistics, leading to a sharp contraction to 1 451 thousand m³. A post-pandemic recovery in 2021, driven by renewed regional demand, pushed the market back up to 1 555 thousand m³.

In the following years, the market fluctuated near 1 500 thousand m³, with a slight dip in 2022 due to global price volatility and logistical constraints, followed by modest growth in 2023 as Chinese demand and regional trade policies continued to influence trade.
