Earlier Report Observations

The market volume for non-coniferous roundwood in Northern Europe declined from 45.7 million cubic meters in 2018 to 41.5 million cubic meters in 2023, an overall reduction of approximately 9%. This downward trend was interrupted by a slight rebound in 2020 and 2021, but volumes fell again in the following two years.

In value terms, the market showed significant fluctuation, dropping sharply from 5.9 billion US dollars in 2018 to 4.3 billion in 2019. It then recovered steadily, reaching 5.5 billion by 2023. The sharper decline in value compared to volume in 2019 indicates a notable shift in pricing or product composition during that period.
