Between 2018 and 2023, the Montenegrin market for non-coniferous roundwood experienced significant swings in volume, driven almost entirely by domestic production. Starting at 287.6 thousand m³, output surged by nearly 47% in 2019 to 422.1 thousand m³ and edged up another 2.3% in 2020, reaching a period peak of 431.9 thousand m³.

This growth trend reversed abruptly in 2021, when market volume contracted by roughly 40% to 261 thousand m³. A modest 3.9% recovery followed in 2022, bringing the volume to 271.3 thousand m³.

The market demonstrated a strong rebound in 2023, with production jumping 59% year-on-year to 430.8 thousand m³, effectively returning to the high levels seen prior to the 2021 downturn.

Non-coniferous roundwood production in Montenegro increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, Montenegro produced 431.9 thousand cubic meters of non-coniferous roundwood, marking a 2.3% increase from the previous year. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, production decreased by 44.8%, with an average annual decline of 18.0%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 287.6 thousand cubic meters. The sharpest decline occurred in 2018, with a drop of 63.3%, while the largest increase was observed in 2019, at 46.8%.
