The market's expansion of 23% in 2023, reaching a volume of 724 thousand tons, was substantially driven by the near-doubling of import volumes compared to the previous year, which offset the continued constraints in domestic production.

Production peaked in 2019 at 598.0 thousand tons, which was 2.2% higher than the previous year. The most significant decline occurred in 2020, with production falling by 1.3%.
