This was supported by growing consumer demand for fresh, healthy, and convenient food products, as well as the emergence of new ready-to-eat offerings. By 2024, factors such as efforts to diversify food supply sources and enforce strict food safety standards for imported fruits were shaping the market environment, alongside the entry of thousands of new F&B brands indicating dynamic competition.

From 2017 to 2020, imports grew by 8%, with a compound annual growth rate of 2.6%. The lowest import volume was recorded in 2018 at 23 082 tonnes, which represented a 29.1% decline from the previous year. The largest increase occurred in 2019, with imports rising by 44.7%.
