From 2021 to 2024, production and market volume experienced notable fluctuations. Market volume in physical terms fell from 106.4 thousand tons in 2021 to 88.5 thousand tons in 2023, partly due to tightening regulations such as Spain's Waste Law (2022) and the EU regulation setting strict maximum limits for melamine in food (2023), which raised safety and compliance requirements. In 2024, however, market volume rebounded sharply to 109.0 thousand tons, driven by increased demand and production of melamine boards, fueled by technological advances in impregnation and lamination using melamine resins.
