The export market base for MDF in kind from 2017 to 2020 was broad, with Lebanon (4.6% of exports in kind), Palestine (3.4% of exports in kind), and Syria (2.1% of exports in kind) collectively accounting for just 10.1% of total flows. The remaining 89.9% was distributed among numerous other countries.

After two years of growth, Northern Africa's MDF exports in value terms declined. In 2020, exports totaled 3.6 M US dollars, representing a significant decrease of 15.9% from 2019.
