Earlier Report Observations

The malt market in Oceania showed variable consumption from 2018 to 2023. Volume started at 397 thousand tons in 2018, climbed to 418 thousand tons in 2019, then contracted over the next two years to 306 thousand tons in 2021. A strong recovery followed in 2022, lifting the market to 431 thousand tons, before another decline to 363 thousand tons in 2023.

While the regional malt beverages sector thrived in 2023, driven by rising demand for flavored and organic drinks, craft beer growth, and significant company investments, the domestic consumption volume of malt in Oceania decreased that year. The overall period was marked by shifts in production and trade flows, contributing to the market's volatility.
