Earlier Report Observations

From 2019 to 2021, the Polish market for crude corn oil and fractions experienced substantial expansion, with market volume rising from 5 297 t to 13 168 t and market value increasing from 3.4 million US dollars to 12.6 million US dollars. This growth was driven by a surge in domestic production, which more than doubled from 5 296 t to 11 362 t, coupled with a sharp rise in imports from 127 t to 5 200 t over the same period.

Trade patterns shifted markedly after 2021. Imports fell precipitously from 5 200 t in 2021 to just 1 t in 2024, while exports remained elevated at around 3 000 t annually from 2021 onward. The earlier expansion in exports, from 126 t in 2019 to 3 394 t in 2021, had already signaled Poland's growing role as a supplier in the international market.

Over the full 2018–2024 span, the market's trajectory was defined by rapid volume and value growth up to 2021, followed by a rebalancing of trade flows that reduced import reliance and maintained a strong export position.
