The following year, imports fell to 559 t as increased awareness of rational antimicrobial use, including insecticides, influenced application practices.

Market size, measured in volume, stood at 596 t in 2021 and edged up to 609 t in 2022. This stability coincided with an emphasized need for conscientious use of plant protection products due to Bosnia and Herzegovina's EU accession process, which implied harmonization with EU controls and sustained demand for registered insecticides in combating pests in fruit and vegetable farming. However, in 2023, the market contracted to 537 t before rebounding to 620 t in 2024.
