The market volume for in-shell almonds in Kyrgyzstan increased gradually from 1 670 t in 2018 to 1 799 t in 2021, then jumped to 2 339 t in 2022 before settling at 2 047 t in 2023.

Domestic production remained stable around 1 600–1 700 t throughout the period. The sharp rise in market size in 2022 was accompanied by a tenfold increase in imports, which reached 1 027 t, while exports also grew from negligible levels to 364 t.

By 2023, imports climbed further to 1 321 t, but higher exports of 956 t moderated the market volume, resulting in a 12% decline from the 2022 peak.

In 2021, the country produced 1 677 tonnes of in-shell almonds, marking a gradual increase of 3.8% compared to the previous year. The lowest production level was recorded in 2020 at 1 616 tonnes, while the largest decline occurred in 2019 with a drop of 0.7%.
