Between 2018 and 2020, the in-shell almonds market volume in Côte d'Ivoire fluctuated between 1 663 t and 1 725 t. The government's policy to promote local processing, launched in 2018 with export subsidies for almonds and a tax on raw cashew nuts, attracted new players, increasing the number of processors. A record cashew crop exceeding 1 million tonnes in 2020 supplied abundant raw material, supporting stable almond production.

From 2021 to 2023, the market volume gradually declined to 1 644 t. This reduction coincided with a rise in almond exports, which reached 47 t in 2023, driven by sustained export incentives and the commissioning of new processing facilities like the Dénia Ivoire plant in 2022. The implementation of the EU cadmium regulation in 2023 required exporters to adapt quality controls, reinforcing the focus on export-oriented production while the domestic market stabilized.
