The hydrogen fluoride market in Germany contracted in value from 54.8 million USD in 2018 to 30.7 million USD in 2024. After falling to 37.2 million USD in 2020, it briefly recovered to 42.0 million USD in 2021 before declining again to 36.9 million USD in 2023 and 30.7 million USD in 2024.

In the 2022-2024 period, growing demand for hydrogen fluoride in European metal processing and the automotive industry was noted, and key players invested in research and development. Increased focus on workplace safety also drove demand for gas detection systems. However, these developments did not prevent the overall market shrinkage in Germany.

Domestic production fell sharply from 148.3 million USD in 2018 to 100.2 million USD in 2024, while imports grew from 7.7 million USD to 19.9 million USD. Exports also decreased, contributing to the reduction in market size.
