In value terms, the market showed similar volatility, dropping from USD 13.6 million in 2018 to USD 7.7 million in 2020, then rebounding to USD 15.8 million in 2022 and falling to USD 12.1 million in 2023. Production and export volumes also varied considerably throughout this period.

In 2024, the region's honey gained notable international recognition when Dominica's 'La Vie Miel' brand won the award for best international honey at the UK's National Honey Show. Terri Henry-Lovell from St. Kitts and Nevis also won several awards for hive-derived products, indicating a trend toward product diversification within the Caribbean beekeeping sector.

Caribbean honey production declined after two years of growth. In 2019, production reached its peak at 12 732 tonnes, but by 2020 it had fallen to 10 269 tonnes, marking a significant 19.3% decrease. The largest annual increase occurred in 2018, when production rose by 31.0%. Overall, from 2017 to 2020, production grew by 22.3%, averaging an annual rate of 6.9%.

Caribbean honey exports increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, exports reached 7 795 tonnes, up 6.4% from 2019. The lowest point was in 2018 at 6 616 tonnes, which experienced a 9.7% decline. The largest annual increase occurred in 2019, with a 10.8% rise. From 2017 to 2020, exports grew by 6.4%, averaging 2.1% per year.

From 2017 to 2020, the main destinations for Caribbean honey exports by volume were Germany, Spain, and Belgium. Germany accounted for 56.9% of exports, Spain for 9.3%, and Belgium for 6.7%. Together, these three countries represented 72.8% of total export flows.

Caribbean honey exports in value terms increased after two years of decline. In 2020, exports amounted to 16 813 thousand US dollars, an 8.7% increase from 2019. The lowest value was recorded in 2019 at 15 469 thousand US dollars, which saw a 13.7% decline in 2018. Overall, from 2017 to 2020, exports decreased by 14.6%, with an average annual decline of 5.1%.

Caribbean honey imports increased for the second year in a row. In 2020, imports totaled 745 tonnes, a sharp 26.4% rise from 2019. The lowest volume was in 2018 at 588 tonnes, which saw a slight 1.7% decline. From 2017 to 2020, imports grew by 24.4%, averaging 7.5% per year.
