After 2021, the market trend reversed, with volume declining to 5.4 thousand t in 2022 and reaching 5.5 thousand t in 2023. The contraction was driven by a sharp drop in imports, which fell to 618 t in 2022 from 859 t the previous year, even as local production held stable.

In 2024, grape imports fell further to 382 t, signaling a continued shift in supply dynamics for the Ethiopian market.

Ethiopia's grape production reached 4 807 tonnes in 2020, showing a slight decrease of 1.1% compared to 2019.
