Earlier Report Observations

The market for goose meat and offal in the MENA region began the period with production of 32 269 t in 2018. Factors such as increasing supply chain complexity across the Middle East and Africa, which raised the need for longer meat preservation, supported demand for frozen poultry meat including goose products. Saudi Arabia's dominance in the frozen poultry market, driven by tourism growth and advanced processing facilities, also provided a favorable backdrop. Market volume grew to 21 693 t in 2020, aided by these ongoing supply chain factors that boosted frozen meat consumption.

After the 2020 peak, market volume edged down to 20 942 t in 2021. A steep decline followed in 2022, with volume falling to 14 044 t. The market then saw a modest recovery to 14 784 t in 2023, helped by intensified competition in the UAE red meat market during Ramadan and higher demand for chilled and frozen meat in that period.

In 2024, imports of goose meat reached 3 265 t while exports were negligible at 28 t. Current market conditions are shaped by Saudi Arabia's leading position in poultry meat consumption, rising demand for high-quality protein, urbanization across the Middle East, expanded distribution channels, and growing consumer preference for frozen and ready-to-eat meat products.
