Concurrently, rising export demand for frozen goat meat contributed to increased production activity.

In 2023, the market volume contracted to 49.5 thousand tons. During this period, the fresh goat meat segment maintained its dominant market share, and there was increased adoption of advanced packaging technologies like Cryovac to preserve freshness for up to 28 days. Demand from the restaurant sector also showed significant growth, with a noted increase in orders for goat meat dishes.

From 2017 to 2020, the export partner landscape for goat meat in kind was diverse. Sri Lanka (3.1% of exports in kind), Somalia (3.0%), and Switzerland (2.6%) together accounted for only 8.8% of total flows, while the remaining 91.2% went to many other countries.
