Growth resumed in 2021, with volume reaching 286.7 thousand tons and value 364.8 million US dollars, supported by the emergence of plant-based food sustainability and flexitarian diets that increased demand for frozen vegetables as a convenient option. The trend toward healthy and convenient frozen foods, including ready-to-eat meals, further drove the market to 296.5 thousand tons and 387.4 million US dollars in 2022. In 2023, however, market volume contracted to 260.7 thousand tons, although value continued to rise slightly to 397.7 million US dollars.

Between 2017 and 2020, Japan, the United States, and South Korea were the primary destinations for frozen vegetables exports from South-eastern Asia in volume terms.
