The peak was in 2018 at 6 412 tonnes, which also experienced the largest increase of 4.2% that year. In contrast, 2019 saw the steepest fall of 9.4%.

From 2017 to 2020, Germany, Austria, and Serbia were the top markets for Slovenia's exports of folding cartons, boxes and cases in volume terms. Germany accounted for 26.4% of exports, Austria for 26.3%, and Serbia for 8.6%. Together, these three countries made up 61.4% of total export flows.
