This coincided with a substantial shift in supply structure: domestic production more than doubled from 7 987 to 12 841 tons, while exports rose consistently. Imports, in contrast, halved from 20 000 tons in 2018 to 14 396 tons in 2024.

The overall period saw a move toward greater self-sufficiency, with local production covering a larger portion of domestic demand. Despite the contraction in physical consumption, the market's total value was sustained, indicating potential changes in product mix or pricing within the sector.

In 2020, production amounted to 12 518 tonnes, showing a modest increase of 6.9% compared to 2019. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, however, production decreased by 13.3%, averaging an annual decline of 4.7%. The lowest production volume was in 2018 at 7 987 tonnes, which also marked the largest decline of 44.7%. The most significant increase occurred in 2019, with a jump of 46.7%.
