In 2022, the global fluorspar market was influenced by the opening of the world's first HFA 152 production plant by Koura, highlighting growing demand for fluorspar in advanced fluorochemical applications.

Brazil's fluorspar production increased for the second year in a row. In 2021, the country produced 28 158 tonnes, marking a 13.9% rise compared to the previous year. Production hit its lowest point in 2019 at 24 399 tonnes, which also saw the steepest decline of 13.5%.
