The market volume for filled chocolate bars in Poland contracted sharply from 32,070 t in 2018 to 9,990 t in 2020. The cost pressure prompted adaptations by major producers like Wedel, which strengthened its market position. Simultaneously, new environmental regulations such as the EUDR and growing consumer interest in Fairtrade-certified chocolate influenced supply chains and preferences.
The competitive Polish landscape, featuring strong international and domestic brands, supported product innovation and diversity throughout the period. Evolving consumer expectations, particularly among younger groups seeking new flavors and value, continued to shape the market despite elevated input costs.
