From 2018 to 2022, feldspar production in Sri Lanka remained steady at 26 000 t per year. Market volume grew gradually from 26 445 t to 26 918 t, entirely driven by a rise in imports from 445 t to 918 t. The state-owned Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) regulated the exploration, mining, and trade of minerals including feldspar under the Mines and Minerals Act, contributing to stable domestic output.

Imports continued to increase during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, reaching 697 t, and peaked at 918 t in 2022. After 2022, import volumes declined to 781 t in 2023 and 613 t in 2024, though production data for these years is unavailable to determine the total market size.
