The feldspar market in Peru experienced significant volatility in volume between 2018 and 2022. After starting at 33 495 t in 2018, consumption contracted sharply to 25 577 t in 2020. This decline coincided with the global COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted industrial activity and supply chains, leading to reduced demand.

Market volume rebounded strongly to 33 438 t in 2021 as economic conditions normalized. By 2022, volume saw a modest correction to 31 516 t. However, the market's value demonstrated a different trend, rising consistently from $4.6 million in 2018 to $5.4 million in 2022, suggesting a shift towards higher-value segments or increased unit prices during the later years.

The market exhibited significant volatility during this period. Production reached its lowest point in 2017 and peaked in 2018, with a 2.1-fold difference between these years. In 2020, Peru produced 24 132 tons of feldspar, marking a sharp decline of 17.2% from 2019. Exports feldspar from Peru

Following two years of growth, Peru's feldspar export volumes declined. In 2020, Peru exported 5 807 tons of feldspar, representing a solid decrease of 16.2% compared to the previous year. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, exports increased by 18.5%, equivalent to an annualized growth rate of 5.8%. The highest export volume was recorded in 2019 at 6 932 tons, while the largest annual increase occurred in 2018 at 29.0%.

After two years of growth, Peru's feldspar export values declined. In 2020, exports amounted to 649 thousand US dollars, equivalent to a steep loss of 26.9% compared with 2019. From 2017 to 2020, exports decreased by 7.1%, representing an annualized decline rate of 2.4%. The peak export value was recorded in 2019 at 887 thousand US dollars, while the largest annual increase occurred in 2018 at 21.1%.

After two years of increase, Peru's feldspar import volumes declined. In 2020, imports were recorded at 7 252 tons, down by 21.8% compared with 2019. Over the period 2017-2020, imports increased by 7.7%, with a compound annual growth rate of 2.5%. The highest import volume was recorded in 2019 at 9 270 tons, while the largest annual increase occurred in 2018 at 22.2%.
