In 2023, the market expanded to 75 072 t despite reported decreases in overall fruit and vegetable sales volumes and ongoing economic pressure on Swedish growers with tight margins. Climatic factors such as drought and rain were noted as influences on vegetable supply, yet production of edible brassicas increased to 34 630 t that year.

After two consecutive years of growth, Sweden's exports of edible brassicas declined in 2020. The country exported 571 tonnes that year, representing a sharp decrease of 51.6% compared to 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports overall increased by 8.5%, with an average annual growth rate of 2.8%. The peak export volume was recorded in 2019 at 1 180 tonnes, which also saw the largest annual increase of 56.9%.
