The market volume for fresh or chilled edible brassicas in Czechia fluctuated between 114 тыс. т and 117 тыс. т from 2018 to 2021, peaking in the latter year. After 2021, the market contracted for two consecutive years, declining to 100 тыс. т by 2023.

Domestic production showed a general upward trend, increasing from 45 тыс. т in 2018 to 55 тыс. т in 2021 before a temporary dip in 2022. Imports, a major component of supply, fell steadily from 78 тыс. т to 55 тыс. т over the 2018–2023 period. This decline in imports contributed to the overall market contraction after 2021.

In 2024, imports rebounded sharply by 23% to 67 тыс. т. This surge coincided with a record number of new food and beverage brands entering the Czech market, introducing exotic cuisines and premium offerings that likely stimulated demand for imported vegetables. Concurrently, a strong consumer shift towards healthy and quality foods, including fresh brassicas, supported both the import recovery and a 13% rise in exports as local producers tapped into broader international demand.

Czechia's edible brassicas production has increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, the country produced 53 320 tonnes of edible brassicas, marking a significant 15.9% rise compared to the previous year. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 44 770 tonnes, which also saw the largest decline of 15.6%.

Czechia's edible brassicas production value has risen for the second year in a row. In 2020, the output was valued at 47 442 thousand US dollars, representing a 27.1% increase year-over-year. Between 2017 and 2020, production grew by 31.8%, equivalent to an annualized rate of 9.6%. The lowest value was recorded in 2018 at 34 861 thousand US dollars, which experienced the largest decline of 3.2%.

Between 2017 and 2020, exports decreased by 8.4%, equating to an annualized rate of 2.9%. The lowest export volume was recorded in 2018 at 8 553 tonnes, which saw the largest decline of 22.5%. In contrast, the largest increase occurred in 2019 with a 24.5% rise.

From 2017 to 2020, Slovakia accounted for 77.0% of Czechia's total edible brassicas exports in volume, with the remaining share distributed among a variety of smaller markets.

Czechia's edible brassicas export value has increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, exports amounted to 8 994 thousand US dollars, up by 4.2% compared to 2019. Between 2017 and 2020, exports grew by 20.1%, equivalent to an annualized rate of 6.3%. The lowest value was recorded in 2018 at 6 660 thousand US dollars, which experienced the largest decline of 11.1%. The largest increase occurred in 2019 with a 29.6% rise.
