The Estonian market for cyclic hydrocarbons displayed considerable volatility from 2018 to 2024, with annual volumes ranging from a low of 34 828 tons to a high of 51 133 tons. The market peaked in 2020 at nearly 50 000 tons, followed by a gradual decline and a sharp contraction in 2023.

After a modest dip in 2019, market volume surged by over 10 000 tons in 2020. The following two years saw a gentle downward trend, which accelerated into a steep drop of more than 10 000 tons in 2023. However, 2024 brought a dramatic rebound, with the market expanding to its highest level in the period.

Domestic production remained minimal throughout, never exceeding 5 tons per year. Consequently, market size closely mirrored import volumes, which fluctuated widely from 34 834 tons in 2023 to 51 139 tons in 2024.

In 2021, output was valued at 9 466 US dollars, marking a significant 17.7% decrease from the previous year.
