Earlier Report Observations

The Slovenian market for corn oil and fractions contracted significantly in 2019, with volume falling by over 700 t to 2 200 t. This drop coincided with a sharp reduction in imports, which more than halved from the previous year, alongside a modest decline in domestic production. Market volume then stabilized around 2 200 t for the following three-year period.

A strong recovery emerged in 2023, lifting the market to 2 861 t, near its 2018 level. This expansion was supported by a substantial rebound in imports, which nearly tripled compared to 2022, and an increase in production. Exports from Slovenia grew steadily throughout the period, particularly after 2022, reflecting rising external demand.
