After a contraction to 136 тыс. м³ in 2021, the market recovered to 142 тыс. м³ in 2022. It then declined to 132 тыс. м³ in 2023, a drop influenced by an oversupplied European wood fuel market and milder winter conditions that reduced demand for heating fuel.

Serbia's coniferous wood fuel production has increased for the third consecutive year. In 2020, the country produced 142.0 K m³, showing a slight uptick of 0.7% compared to 2019. Between 2017 and 2020, production grew by 17.4%, which translates to an annualized rate of 5.5%.
