The peak in 2020 coincided with a significant increase in import volumes, which reached 209 thousand tons that year. After the 2021 peak, the market contracted in both volume and value through 2024. Imports and exports also retreated from their 2021-2022 highs, with imports falling to 121 thousand tons and exports to 148 thousand tons in 2024, contributing to the smaller domestic market volume.
