The coconut market in Pakistan experienced substantial growth in physical volume from 2018 to 2022, starting at 18 402 tons and peaking at 37 540 tons. This upward trend was reversed in 2023 when the market contracted to 32 114 tons.

This expansion was supported by a strong increase in domestic production, which more than doubled from 9 765 tons in 2018 to 20 000 tons in 2023, with a particularly high output of 24 927 tons in 2022. Imports also contributed significantly, reaching 16 857 tons in 2021 before moderating. In value terms, the market grew even more sharply, from 33 980 thousand US dollars to 73 231 thousand over the same peak period, reflecting higher unit values or a product mix shift.
