Earlier Report Observations

The coconut market in the Americas showed stable volumes from 2018 to 2021, with market size hovering around 4 700–4 760 thousand tons. A significant expansion occurred in 2022, when the market grew by 8.5% to 5 126 thousand tons, followed by a further 4.6% increase to 5 363 thousand tons in 2023.

By 2024, several factors were shaping the market. Demand for coconut products rose due to health-conscious consumers seeking plant-based alternatives, leading major companies like Vita Coco, Danone, and Nestlé to launch new coconut-based beverages and yogurts. Thai Coconut Public Company Limited expanded production facilities to meet growing needs for coconut milk and cream. At the same time, supply chain vulnerabilities emerged from environmental challenges like unpredictable weather and diseases affecting coconut plantations. E-commerce also became a key sales channel, supporting market access.
