The market for coconuts, Brazil nuts and cashews in Angola expanded in 2019, reaching 3 793 t, but then contracted sharply over the next two years. By 2021, market volume had fallen to 2 720 t, a decline of over 28% from the 2019 peak. This downturn was primarily driven by pandemic-related disruptions, including a 20.9% drop in cashew exports from neighboring Guinea-Bissau in 2020, which tightened regional supply chains and reduced import availability.

Market volume began to recover from 2022 onward, reaching 2 965 t in 2023.
