The market volume for coconut oil in Pakistan fluctuated between 2018 and 2023, reaching a high of 14 114 tonnes in 2022 before declining to 11 685 tonnes the following year. Overall, the period saw a net increase from the 2018 level of 11 354 tonnes, driven primarily by a surge in domestic production starting in 2020.

Domestic production of coconut oil rose sharply from 4 400 tonnes in 2019 to 6 700 tonnes in 2020 and remained at that level through 2023. Imports, which had initially fallen in 2020, rebounded strongly in 2022 to 7 421 tonnes, contributing to the peak market volume that year. The subsequent drop in market size in 2023 coincided with a reduction in imports to 5 005 tonnes.
