Exports of cocoa-free sugar confectionery from Bosnia and Herzegovina fell for the third year in a row. In 2021, shipments totaled 112 tonnes, marking a 2.4% drop from 2020. Between 2018 and 2021, exports declined by 29.6%, with an average annual decrease of 11.1%.

From 2018 to 2021, Serbia, Montenegro, and the Netherlands were the top destinations for Bosnia and Herzegovina's cocoa-free sugar confectionery exports by volume. Serbia accounted for 28.0% of exports, Montenegro for 17.6%, and the Netherlands for 11.6%. Together, these three countries made up 57.2% of total export flows.

Exports of cocoa-free sugar confectionery from Bosnia and Herzegovina decreased for the second consecutive year. In 2021, export value reached 368 000 US dollars, down 10.4% year-over-year. Over the 2018-2021 period, exports fell by 24.7%, with an average annual decline of 9.0%. The highest value was recorded in 2019 at 511 000 US dollars, while the largest drop occurred in 2020 with a 19.5% decrease. In contrast, 2019 saw the biggest increase at 4.4%.

Between 2018 and 2021, Serbia, the Netherlands, and Montenegro led the way in the value of cocoa-free sugar confectionery exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Serbia contributed 23.2% of export value, the Netherlands 16.8%, and Montenegro 16.6%. Combined, these three markets represented 56.5% of total export flows.

From 2018 to 2021, imports grew by 2.1%, with an average annual rise of 0.7%. The lowest volume was in 2020 at 5 644 tonnes, while the highest was in 2019 at 6 567 tonnes. The sharpest decline occurred in 2020 with a 14.1% drop.

From 2018 to 2021, Turkey, Serbia, and Croatia were the main suppliers of cocoa-free sugar confectionery to Bosnia and Herzegovina by volume. Turkey provided 24.9% of imports, Serbia 18.2%, and Croatia 12.5%. Together, these three countries accounted for 55.7% of total import flows.
