In 2022, a significant expansion occurred, with the market reaching 8.6 million tonnes, driven by increased production and export of chicken meat from Russia, including a wider product assortment, and sustained export growth from Ukraine. By 2023, rising domestic consumption of chicken meat in Russia became a key driver, stimulating production and pushing the market volume to 8.7 million tonnes, while exports of poultry offal also saw substantial growth.

The period was marked by strategic shifts in export destinations. Russia's export of poultry meat and offal grew consistently, with China emerging as a major importer. The market structure evolved with a notable expansion in the offal segment and a move by producers towards offering more semi-prepared and value-added products like chilled and frozen semi-finished meats.
