The Vietnamese cereal germ market expanded from 140.5 thousand tons in 2018 to 149.8 thousand tons in 2020, a growth supported by Cargill Vietnam's vigorous development in the animal feed and aquaculture sectors, where it applied advanced technology and high-quality products, boosting demand for feed ingredients like cereal germ.

After peaking in 2020, production contracted to 133.6 thousand tons in 2021 and further to 129.7 thousand tons in 2022. The market recovered to 133.5 thousand tons in 2023, aided by Cargill's $28 million investment in a new Provimi plant in Dong Nai that started operations in the fourth quarter, enhancing domestic production capacity for feed ingredients. Concurrently, increasing Vietnamese consumer preference for whole-grain and health-oriented foods bolstered demand for cereal germ in the food segment.
