Over the 2017-2020 period, production decreased by 4.6%, with a compound annual growth rate of 1.6%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 74 518 thousand metric tons. That same year saw the largest decline of 5.9%, while 2019 experienced the biggest increase at 3.1%.

Exports cassava from ASEAN

Following two consecutive years of decline, ASEAN's cassava exports rebounded in 2020. The region exported 3 962 thousand metric tons of cassava that year, representing a 39.8% improvement over 2019. However, over the 2017-2020 period, exports decreased by 57.7%, equating to an annualized decline of 24.9%. The lowest export volume was recorded in 2019 at 2 833 thousand metric tons, while the largest decline occurred in 2018 at 55.6%.
