After reaching a peak in 2021, the market volume entered a correction phase, declining to 148 thousand tonnes in 2022 and further to 140 thousand tonnes in 2023.

A strong rebound occurred in 2024, when consumption jumped by 30% to 181 thousand tonnes, setting a new record for the period, although the market value in dollar terms saw a more modest increase of 3%.
