By 2022, the rediscovery of camel breeding as a climate-adaptive resource in the region further underscored the sector's potential.

By 2024, nutritional transition driven by rapid urbanization and rising incomes in West Africa bolstered meat consumption, while record global meat prices influenced local market dynamics. These elements shaped the market environment in the latter part of the review period.
