Simultaneously, industry production costs for raw materials, energy, and labor climbed sharply, elevating the market's monetary value. However, a correction followed in 2023, with the market size contracting to 101 million USD US. This decline coincided with continued high input costs and an increased supply of timber regulated through auctions organized by the State Forest Service (VMU), which helped stabilize prices but also adjusted market volumes.

In 2024, the market stabilized at 96 million USD US, showing a moderate decrease. Imports and exports began a tentative recovery in 2025. Throughout this period, Lithuanian companies like UAB 'Medžio bitės' adapted by expanding their networks with new timber terminal-stores, reflecting shifts in the competitive landscape even as total market demand adjusted.
