The initial downturn from 2018 to 2020 saw the market shrink by roughly 20%, coinciding with a drop in domestic production and reduced imports. A temporary rebound in 2021 was followed by another contraction in 2022, partly linked to a sharp fall in import volumes, which nearly vanished after 2019. The 14% growth in 2023 was driven by a recovery in production, while imports remained absent.
