The market for bran, sharps and residues from cereal or legume processing in Poland expanded significantly in 2019, reaching 1.2 million tonnes, up from 896 thousand tonnes in 2018. This increase coincided with a sharp rise in domestic production to 1.2 million tonnes, while imports fell and exports remained stable. Throughout the period, Poland strengthened its position as a net exporter, with export volumes more than doubling from 191 thousand tonnes in 2018 to 431 thousand tonnes in 2023. Import volumes shrank by two-thirds over the same timeframe, altering the balance between domestic and foreign supply.
