This expansion coincided with a period of sharply rising imports, which increased from 34 thousand tonnes to over 100 thousand tonnes, while domestic production also recorded steady growth.

After reaching its peak in 2021, the market volume entered a period of contraction, declining to 526 thousand tonnes in 2022 and further to 470 thousand tonnes in 2023. This downturn was accompanied by a drastic reduction in imports, which fell to less than 10 thousand tonnes by 2023, even as domestic production continued to increase moderately.

The lowest export volume was recorded in 2019 at 7 430 tons, while the peak occurred in 2018 with 19 456 tons. The most significant drop happened in 2019, when exports fell by 61.8%.
