The market for fresh or chilled beans in Poland showed considerable volatility from 2018 to 2023. After starting at 49,852 tons in 2018, volume fell sharply the following year to 42,573 tons. A recovery followed in 2020, bringing the market to 47,224 tons, before it stabilized near that level in 2021 with a minor decline to 46,538 tons.

A major expansion occurred in 2022, with market volume surging by 39% to reach 64,815 tons. This growth was supported by a broader consumer shift toward plant-based and vegan diets, which increased demand for legume vegetables like fresh beans. In 2023, the market corrected downward to 58,617 tons but remained well above its pre-2022 size.
