The apricot market in Morocco expanded from 101.6 thousand tons in 2018 to 109.5 thousand tons in 2019. This growth was supported by the implementation of the Industrial Acceleration Plan, which stimulated agro-industrial development in the Souss-Massa region through significant investments, including in agri-food projects that enhanced production capacity.

From 2020, the market volume entered a sustained decline, falling to 93.0 thousand tons and then to 58.9 thousand tons by 2023. During this period, the regional urban development program for Agadir continued to promote industrialization and economic integration, while the apricot sector experienced contraction.

In 2024, efforts continued under the Generation Green strategy to label local products, and the second phase of the Morocco-Germany Agricultural and Forestry Technical Dialogue was launched to strengthen technical cooperation, reflecting ongoing policy focus on the agricultural sector's development.
