However, rising global food prices boosted export attractiveness, reducing domestic availability. By 2023, increased energy costs raised production expenses, leading to a decrease in apple production and further market shrinkage.

In 2024, amendments to tax legislation exempting agricultural equipment from VAT aimed to lower farmer costs, while growth in retail trade indicated resilient consumer demand. For 2025, active participation of state and private companies in export operations and noted increases in agricultural production point toward a market oriented both domestically and externally.
