Between 2018 and 2020, the market volume for animal guts, bladders and stomachs in Poland grew from 67.1 thousand tonnes to 94.0 thousand tonnes. This expansion was supported by a rise in the production of key meat products like poultry, pork, and beef in the preceding years, which increased the availability of slaughter by-products used as raw material for offal. Consequently, domestic production of these items surged from 71.9 thousand tonnes to 103.7 thousand tonnes over the same period.

In the following years, shifts in trade patterns influenced the market. For instance, in 2021, exports to Ukraine reached a value of 3.03 million US dollars, reflecting growing regional demand for Polish animal guts. Simultaneously, imports from Mongolia, though smaller at 0.14 million US dollars, indicated diversified sourcing channels for raw materials.

By 2024, new Polish animal health regulations aligning with EU law came into force in March, simplifying the movement and trade of livestock for farmers and thereby indirectly supporting the supply of raw material for offal. Data from the national statistics office also showed a 3.8% year-on-year increase in domestic meat supplies, including by-products, pointing to sustained demand from the meat processing and animal feed sectors.

In 2020, the output was valued at 166.5 million US dollars, showing a modest year-over-year increase of 5.1%. From 2017 to 2020, production rose by 36%, which translates to an annualized growth rate of 10.8%.

Poland's production volume of animal guts, bladders, and stomachs has increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, the country produced 103.7 thousand tonnes, marking a significant 13.9% gain compared to 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, production grew by 9.1%, with a compound annual growth rate of 3.0%. The lowest volume was recorded in 2018 at 71.9 thousand tonnes, which also saw the largest decline of 24.3%. In contrast, 2019 experienced the largest increase of 26.7%.

Poland's exports of animal guts, bladders, and stomachs have risen for the second year in a row. In 2020, exports totaled 41 316 tonnes, representing a slight 2.1% increase from 2019. Between 2017 and 2020, exports grew by 9.1%, equating to an annualized rate of 2.9%. The lowest export volume was in 2018 at 36 414 tonnes, which also saw the largest decline of 3.9%. The largest increase occurred in 2019, with an 11.2% rise.

From 2017 to 2020, Hong Kong, Germany, and France remained the top buyers of animal guts, bladders, and stomachs from Poland. Hong Kong accounted for 29.2% of exports in kind, Germany for 23.2%, and France for 14.2%. Together, these three markets made up 66.6% of Poland's total exports in this category.

Poland's exports of animal guts, bladders, and stomachs in value terms have declined for the second consecutive year. In 2020, exports amounted to 127.1 million US dollars, a 7.3% decrease compared to 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports fell by 3.4%, with a compound annual growth rate of -1.2%. The highest value was recorded in 2018 at 142.7 million US dollars, which also saw the largest increase of 8.4%.

Throughout 2017-2020, Germany, Hong Kong, and France were the key destinations for Poland's exports in value terms. Germany led with 39.1% of exports, followed by Hong Kong at 15.5%, and France at 11.6%. Combined, these three countries accounted for 66.2% of total export flows.
