This peak was followed by a downward adjustment, with the market declining to around 23 700 t in 2021 and further to under 20 000 t in 2022. A slight recovery occurred in 2023, bringing the market size to approximately 20 500 t.

Pakistan's almond production increased for the second year in a row in 2020, reaching 21 094 tonnes, a 5.3% rise from the previous year. However, over the 2017-2020 period, production overall declined by 3%, with an average annual growth rate of 1.0%. The lowest production was recorded in 2018 at 19 994 tonnes, which also saw the largest decline of 8.1%.
