The market for woven textile floor coverings in Bosnia and Herzegovina experienced notable fluctuations between 2021 and 2024. In physical terms, market volume fell by over one-fifth to 1.3 million m² in 2022, before recovering to 1.6 million m² in 2023 and reaching 1.7 million m² in 2024. In value terms, the market followed a similar pattern, declining to $13.2 million in 2022 and then stabilizing above $14 million in the following years.

These swings were primarily driven by changes in import volumes, which constitute the vast majority of supply. Imports dropped sharply in 2022 to 1.3 million m², contributing to the overall market contraction that year. Subsequently, import growth resumed, climbing to 1.7 million m² by 2024. Meanwhile, export volumes remained relatively low but showed a steady upward trend, particularly in 2024 and 2025.

Domestic production played a minor role, accounting for less than 1% of total market volume. Output gradually declined from 17 000 m² in 2021 to 11 000 m² in 2024, indicating a continued reliance on imported goods to meet domestic demand.

From 2018 to 2021, Croatia, Serbia, and Turkey were the main markets for Bosnia and Herzegovina's exports in volume terms. Croatia accounted for 29.7% of exports, Serbia for 28.1%, and Turkey for 23.4%. Together, these three countries made up 81.2% of the total export flows.
